Retina Health Center is now offering a genetic test to determine a patient’s risk of developing age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Researchers have identified a number of genetic markers that can predict the risk of an individual developing vision loss from advanced AMD. This test is being offered on an introductory basis for $399 in Retina Health Center’s Fort Myers and Naples offices and can be done independently or as part of an overall macular degeneration evaluation.
